Our organization works to bring new life to downtown Rockford by establishing a weekly tradition that draws people into the heart of the city, creates a vibrant community center, increases business at downtown shops & restaurants, and serves as an incubator for new businesses.

We offer flexible hours and competitive pay in a fun work environment that specializes in celebrating downtown Rockford and our local small businesses!
Here is a typical schedule for our summer staff each Friday night!
1:30pm - Park your car in our designated staff & vendor lot and meet the rest of the team at the Market
1:40pm - 3:30pm - Set up for the Outdoor Rockford City Market! We set up tents for our gatekeepers (the non profit volunteers that greet guests, track how many visitors we have each night, and answer questions), our activity booths, and our beer tent. We set up two seating areas in our Market foot print. We bring out trash cans and recycling bins for visitors to use.
3:45pm-8:30pm - The Outdoor Rockford City Market begins! You’ll be stationed at either our beer tent, our Pepsi trailer, our info booth, or our indoor mobile bar. Your primary responsibilities will be assisting visitors by selling merchandise and handing out SNAP tokens if you’re at our Info Booth, or selling beverages to those who visit our beer tent, Pepsi trailer, or indoor mobile bar.
8:45pm -9:30pm - Work with the rest of the Market team to pack up our tents, seating areas, and trash cans before heading home
While we know the importance of hard work and efficiency, we also prioritize having fun! The Outdoor Rockford City Market is a FUN environment and we want our staff to find joy in working with us every Friday night.
Every Friday night you’ll get a break — the perfect opportunity to grab some food from one of our vendors, enjoy a few songs from our live music, or walk around and take in a nice summer Market night. You won’t feel like you’re missing the Market just because you’re working the Market.
