The North End City Market is one of Rockford’s oldest running farmers markets and has been a community staple for over 20 years! A group of farmers, makers, and growers had been meeting in the same parking lot behind the Norwegian for years, and were known lovingly by the community as The North End Commons Farmers Market. In 2015 we partnered with this group of vendors (some of them are still vending with us today!), helped move the Market to a more visible parking lot across the street, and welcomed them to the Rockford City Market family.
While our Friday Night Rockford City Market puts an emphasis on downtown Rockford, local food trucks & breweries, and some favorite local musicians in addition to local produce vendors, the North End City Market strives to highlight and celebrate our local farmers and growers. It’s smaller than its Friday Night peer, but it’s full of community, history, heart, and nourishing food.
